Build Process

Build Process:

At Blaze Design, we take immense pride in the meticulous craftsmanship behind our tables. Each element of the build process reflects our commitment to creating furniture of exceptional quality and enduring beauty.

Bone White Polished Concrete Legs:

Our signature bone white polished concrete legs undergo a 19-stage manufacturing process, starting from the precise form-making for concrete spraying. These legs are strengthened with carbon fiber reinforcing rods, utilizing GFRC cement imported from the USA. The final touch is a 5-stage concrete polishing process, resulting in an almost pure bone white finish. To ensure longevity and resistance to stains, the legs are treated with a food-grade sealant.

English Oak Beams:

The English Oak beams used in our tables have been air-dried for a minimum of 2 years. Prior to assembly, they undergo a rigorous sanding regime to bring out their natural beauty and character. To protect and enhance the wood's inherent luster, each beam is finished with two coats of Danish oil.

Toughened Glass

To complete the table, 12mm thick toughened glass is used with bevelled edges to finish the final piece.

Wood Movement:

It's essential to note that all natural timbers, including our English Oak, have the potential to undergo wood movement. This phenomenon occurs due to the variation in moisture content between the wood and the surrounding air. As the porous wood strives to equalize its moisture content with its environment, it may both release and absorb moisture, causing shrinkage and swelling. This process is not uniform across the width, length, and thickness of the timber. Most movement typically occurs within the first 12 months indoors as the wood acclimatizes to the varying conditions in your home, adapting between seasons and ensuring a long-lasting and stable piece of furniture.

Our commitment to quality and the understanding of wood movement guarantee that your Blaze Design table is not just a beautiful piece but also a testament to enduring craftsmanship.
